Zspace Previews Industry's First RISC-V Consumer AI NAS for Q4 2026 Release
Zspace has partnered with ESWIN to announce the industry's first fully self-developed RISC-V consumer AI NAS, scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2026. The device features a domestic Chinese main control solution designed for 24/7 high-efficiency operation. This partnership represents a significant expansion of the open-source RISC-V ecosystem into consumer storage and edge computing markets. It also highlights China's growing push toward hardware self-reliance by utilizing domestic chips and computing architectures. The NAS will feature a 4-core 64-bit RISC-V CPU, a self-developed NPU supporting INT8/INT16/FP16 formats, and a 4+2 bay design supporting up to 144TB of storage. It will run a customized operating system based on Debian and OpenMediaVault, offering out-of-the-box compatibility for developers.
## BACKGROUND
