Zhipu AI Reports H1 2026 Financials: Revenue Up 399.7%, Loss Narrows to 2.07B RMB
Zhipu AI released its financial report for the first half of 2026, showing a 399.7% year-on-year revenue surge to 954 million RMB. Meanwhile, its net loss attributable to the parent company narrowed by 12.1% to 2.07 billion RMB. This report highlights the rapid commercialization of large language models (LLMs) in China, demonstrating that AI startups can generate substantial revenue. However, the massive net loss underscores the ongoing financial pressure from high R&D and computing infrastructure costs. Revenue from Zhipu AI's open platform and API business grew over 27-fold, accounting for 86.5% of total revenue, while R&D expenses rose 33.6% to 2.13 billion RMB. Additionally, the number of MaaS platform users exceeded 7.4 million, representing a 144% increase since the start of the year.
