Zhipu AI Launches Subsidized AI Coding Initiative in Hangzhou

Zhipu AI, in partnership with local municipal authorities in Hangzhou, has launched the 'Hangzhou Citywide Coding Initiative' running from September 10 to December 9. The program offers up to 51% discounts on personal AI coding tool subscriptions and up to 55% off for local enterprise packages on the BigModel platform. This initiative represents a district-level municipal effort in China to subsidize AI model API usage for local developers, students, and tech companies. By lowering the cost of domestic AI coding assistants, it aims to accelerate developer adoption and boost the regional technology ecosystem. Individual applicants must verify their Hangzhou employment via local social security records or prove enrollment at a Hangzhou university, with discounts limited to one quarterly or annual plan per person. Enterprise eligibility is restricted to businesses registered in Hangzhou's Shangcheng District, with subsidy savings capped at 1 million RMB per company.
