XPeng Announces G9L SUV with 2250 TOPS Compute and VLA Model Upgrade
XPeng has officially announced the G9L, a large five-seater electric SUV featuring 800V ultra-fast charging, AI active-fitting seats, and 2250 TOPS of computing power. The vehicle will also debut the first major upgrade of XPeng's second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) model. This release highlights the rapid integration of massive AI computing power and advanced vision-language-action models into production electric vehicles. It intensifies competition in the mid-to-high-end EV market by offering premium autonomous driving and cabin comfort features at a competitive price point. The G9L features a dual-motor four-wheel-drive system with a total output of 430 kW, a 3100 mm wheelbase, and an 800V platform capable of charging 450 km in just 9 minutes. It also includes luxury amenities such as zero-gravity seats, a dual-zone car refrigerator, and an executive center console.
## BACKGROUND
Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models in autonomous driving represent an end-to-end AI approach that directly translates visual inputs into driving decisions, bypassing traditional modular pipelines. XPeng's VLA 2.0 architecture is designed to power not only passenger vehicles but also robotaxis and humanoid robots. The high compute capacity of 2250 TOPS is enabled by advanced onboard AI chips to process these complex neural networks in real-time.
