Xiaomi Unveils Xuanjie O3, Its First 3nm AI Flagship SoC

Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Xuanjie O3, its first self-developed AI flagship System-on-Chip (SoC). Built on a 3nm process, the chip features 24 billion transistors and achieved an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 5.2 million under laboratory conditions. This release marks a significant milestone in Xiaomi's custom silicon strategy, potentially reducing its reliance on third-party chipmakers like Qualcomm and MediaTek. By mastering 3nm design, Xiaomi positions itself as a major player in the high-end mobile hardware and AI-driven smartphone market. The Xuanjie O3 features a die size of 133mm² and represents a 26% increase in transistor scale compared to its predecessor. The record-breaking AnTuTu score of 5,228,014 was achieved under low-temperature laboratory conditions, which may not reflect everyday real-world performance.

## BACKGROUND

A System-on-Chip (SoC) integrates all necessary electronic circuits and parts for a device onto a single integrated circuit. Xiaomi previously entered the advanced custom silicon space with the Xuanjie O1, a 3nm chip featuring a deca-core CPU and a 44 TOPS NPU. The transition to 3nm manufacturing allows for higher transistor density, leading to improved energy efficiency and processing power.
