Xiaomi Showcases Xuanjie O100 Prototype and AI Cube Mini PC for Edge AI
Xiaomi has unveiled its Xuanjie O100 prototype and the AI Cube Prototype mini PC, both powered by its custom Xuanjie silicon designed for local edge AI inference. The Xuanjie O100 prototype utilizes collaborative computing between the Xuanjie O3 and O100 chips, while the AI Cube features a three-chip configuration including the Xuanjie D100. This development highlights Xiaomi's commitment to custom silicon and local edge AI, reducing reliance on cloud computing and external chipmakers. By running its proprietary MiMo AI models directly on local hardware, Xiaomi aims to deliver faster, more private, and lower-latency AI experiences across its ecosystem. The Xuanjie O100 prototype features active air cooling with a 10W heat dissipation capacity to support high-speed on-device inference. Both devices run Xiaomi's native MiMo edge AI models, enabling local deployment of large language models.
## BACKGROUND
Xiaomi has been actively expanding its in-house chip design capabilities, previously making headlines with its 3nm mobile SoC, the Surge Xuanjie O1. Alongside hardware, the company has developed the MiMo AI model family, which includes open-source large language models like MiMo-7B, to power smart devices across its ecosystem.
