Xiaomi's MiMo Code AI Programming Assistant Ends Free Phase on July 26
Xiaomi has announced that its terminal-based AI programming assistant, MiMo Code, will end its free usage phase on July 26 at 18:00. Users will need to subscribe to a paid Token Plan on the Xiaomi MiMo API Open Platform to continue using the service. This transition marks the monetization phase of Xiaomi's AI developer tools, reflecting the broader industry trend of AI coding assistants moving from free exploratory phases to paid subscription models. MiMo Code features the built-in MiMo-V2.5 multimodal model and supports integration with mainstream LLMs like DeepSeek, Kimi, and GLM, as well as third-party Token Plans. First-time subscribers to the Token Plan will receive a 12% discount.
## BACKGROUND
MiMo Code is an AI coding agent developed by Xiaomi that understands codebases, plans changes, and works across terminals, desktop apps, and IDE extensions.
