Xiaomi Registers New Smartphone Supporting Multiple Domestic AI Models in China

Xiaomi has registered a new smartphone model (2608BPX34C) in China that officially supports a wide range of domestic AI models, including DeepSeek, Baidu's Ernie, Alibaba's Tongyi Qianwen, and Xiaomi's own MiMo. This multi-model integration is expected to be part of the upcoming HyperOS update. This move signals a shift towards system-level, multi-model integration in smartphones, allowing users to switch between different AI models for various tasks. It highlights how Chinese smartphone manufacturers are adapting to the diverse local AI ecosystem by collaborating with multiple LLM providers. The registered device supports models from major Chinese tech companies, including Tencent's Hunyuan, ByteDance's Doubao, and Zhipu AI, alongside Xiaomi's proprietary vision and perception models. Additionally, Xiaomi plans to integrate its experimental AI agent, miclaw, into its "Super Xiao AI" assistant to enhance its capabilities.
