Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max to Debut with Xuanjie O3 Flagship Chip in September

Xiaomi has announced that its upcoming Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max tablet, launching in September, will debut the self-developed Xuanjie O3 flagship processor. The new chip features a 10-core all-big-core CPU architecture and is the first mobile SoC to support LPDDR6 memory. This launch represents a major milestone in Xiaomi's in-house chip design capabilities, positioning the Xuanjie O3 to compete directly with top-tier mobile processors like Qualcomm's Snapdragon series. The inclusion of a 200 TOPS NPU and LPDDR6 support highlights a strong industry shift toward high-performance, on-device AI processing. The Xuanjie O3 features a 10-core CPU (6 super cores and 4 large cores) reaching up to 4.35GHz, alongside a 16-core G2-Ultra NX GPU supporting third-generation ray tracing. Its NPU is specifically optimized for the Xiaomi MiMo on-device large language model, delivering 200 TOPS of tensor computing power.

## BACKGROUND

Smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi are increasingly developing proprietary silicon to reduce reliance on third-party chipmakers like Qualcomm and MediaTek while optimizing hardware-software integration. Xuanjie is Xiaomi's in-house chip line, and the MiMo model is their proprietary AI model designed for multimodal interactions and on-device tasks.
