Xiaomi has announced the Smart Camera 5 Pro, featuring 4K full-color night vision, an 8MP+4MP dual-lens setup, and 1.5 TOPS of local AI computing power. The smart surveillance camera is available for crowdfunding in China at 429 yuan. The release demonstrates how edge AI and dual-camera setups are becoming mainstream in budget consumer security products, allowing local recognition of events like pet activity or baby crying without relying on cloud processing. This improves response times and enhances user privacy. The camera features a dual-motor pan-tilt design offering 360° horizontal and 174° vertical coverage, along with Wi-Fi 6 support for 60% faster data transfer rates.
