Xiaomi Concludes 7th Hackathon Featuring University Track and Best MiMo AI Awards
Xiaomi concluded its 7th Hackathon on September 22, achieving a record scale with 284 registered teams and nearly 1,000 participants competing across Xiaomi employee and university tracks. The competition introduced the new "Best MiMo Application Award" to highlight practical projects built on Xiaomi's MiMo AI platform. The event showcases Xiaomi's push to integrate its proprietary MiMo AI model into practical consumer scenarios spanning smart homes, AI wearables, automotive cockpits, and accessibility features. By expanding the hackathon to 94 universities, Xiaomi is also actively cultivating developer talent to enrich its broader hardware and software ecosystem. Winning projects included an AI smart home assistant for retail stores, "Reme" for privacy-focused elderly care using local millimeter-wave radar processing, "NexPet" physical AI companion hardware, and a sign-language interpreter for Xiao AI. Over 500 finalist participants completed 48 hours of rapid prototyping to build working software and hardware applications.
