Xiaomi Announces Next-Gen Xuanjie Chip Amid Daily Tech Industry Updates

Xiaomi has officially announced the upcoming release of its next-generation self-developed Xuanjie chip, following the success of the Xuanjie O1. The daily digest also highlights Foxconn's recruitment drive for the iPhone 18 series and police actions against AI-generated fake car crash videos. Xiaomi's push for custom silicon underscores its strategy to reduce reliance on third-party chipmakers and improve hardware-software integration. Additionally, the crackdown on AI-generated fake videos reflects tightening regulations on generative AI misuse in corporate competition. The previous Xuanjie O1 chip achieved over one million shipments across three devices, proving its viability for flagship integration. Meanwhile, Foxconn is offering a signing bonus of approximately 8,800 RMB to attract workers for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and foldable Ultra models.

## BACKGROUND

Xiaomi established Shanghai Xuanjie Technology in 2021 to spearhead its in-house system-on-chip (SoC) development. The first-generation Xuanjie O1 chip was officially announced in May 2025, manufactured by TSMC, and utilized an external MediaTek T800 baseband.
