## BACKGROUND
xAI's Colossus supercomputer, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is one of the world's largest AI training clusters, famously deploying 100,000 Nvidia H200 GPUs in just 19 days. To achieve this speed, xAI bypassed traditional utility grid connections by deploying temporary gas turbines, a practice increasingly considered by data centers facing grid capacity constraints.
