World's First Independently Operated Bio-Integrated Server Rack Prototype Unveiled

The National University of Singapore Medicine, DayOne, and Cortical Labs have unveiled the world's first independently operated bio-integrated server rack prototype. The system houses 20 CL1 biocomputing units that use human stem cell-derived neurons connected to silicon hardware to process information. This represents a major milestone in biocomputing by demonstrating the practical integration of living neurons (wetware) into standard server rack formats. It offers a highly energy-efficient alternative to traditional silicon chips, paving the way for commercial "Wetware-as-a-Service" models. Each CL1 unit consumes only 30 watts of power and features an internal life support system that keeps the neurons alive for up to six months. The CL1 system is priced at $35,000 per unit, with a cloud-based subscription option available for $2,200 per month.
