WeChat Work 5.0.12 Released with Built-in WorkBuddy AI Assistant
WeChat Work has released version 5.0.12, integrating the WorkBuddy conversational assistant to allow direct access to enterprise data, documents, and customer information for task automation. This integration bridges office communication tools with autonomous AI agents, reducing the friction of switching between multiple applications and turning historical enterprise data into usable production assets. Administrators can manage quotas and compute resource consumption in the backend, controlling permissions regarding who can use the assistant and what data levels they can view.
## BACKGROUND
WeChat Work, known as Qiye Weixin in China, is a major enterprise communication and office collaboration platform developed by Tencent. WorkBuddy is an AI agent developed by Tencent Cloud designed to help office professionals automate complex tasks through natural language instructions.
