WeChat Pay Introduces Hunyuan-Powered Smart Retail Robot at Shenzhen 7-ELEVEN
WeChat Pay deployed its first smart retail robot at a 7-ELEVEN store in Shenzhen on October 29, 2024. Powered by the Tencent Hunyuan model, the robot assists customers with greeting, product recommendations, promotional packages, and order placement. This deployment marks a practical commercial application of large language models and AI agents in offline retail environments. By handling routine customer interactions, the technology helps alleviate staffing pressures and improves overall store operational efficiency. The robot is integrated with Tencent's Tianlai inside audio solution, allowing it to accurately capture user voices and communicate effectively even in noisy retail environments. After the robot handles recommendations and ordering, customers complete their transactions independently via QR code scanning.
