vivo Previews OriginOS 7 Visual AI Light Effects Ahead of September 16 Developer Conference
vivo has unveiled new visual AI status lighting effects ("Xiao V Light Effects") for OriginOS 7 ahead of its Developer Conference on September 16. The dynamic illumination around screen edges and dialog boxes provides users with real-time feedback whenever the upgraded BlueLM Xiao V AI assistant is listening, processing, or completing tasks. This update demonstrates how smartphone manufacturers are refining multimodal user interfaces to make system-level AI interactions feel more fluid and intuitive. OriginOS 7 will debut on upcoming flagship devices such as the vivo X500 series and iQOO 16, expanding advanced AI assistant integration to millions of users. The enhanced BlueLM Xiao V assistant can invoke over 6,000 system-level atomic capabilities to support more than 10,000 tasks. OriginOS 7 also features an upgraded Blue River Smooth Engine and debuts the "Atomic Workbench," allowing standard slab smartphones to run and switch between multiple apps in parallel.
## BACKGROUND
OriginOS is vivo's custom user interface built on Android, while BlueLM Xiao V is the company's global AI assistant launched in late 2023 based on its proprietary BlueLM large language models. Multitasking features like parallel app workspaces were previously designed mainly for foldable phones, but smartphone makers are increasingly optimizing them for traditional single-screen smartphones.
