User Bypasses NordicTrack Treadmill Subscription Wall Using Claude Code

A Reddit user successfully utilized the terminal coding agent Claude Code to bypass the iFIT subscription wall on a NordicTrack treadmill in about a day and a half. The modification transformed the treadmill's screen into a customized interface featuring integrated streaming services and fitness controls. This project demonstrates the practical application of AI coding assistants in reverse engineering and hardware hacking to bypass restrictive software subscription walls. It highlights how accessible custom software modifications are becoming for everyday consumers through AI tools. The hacked interface integrates Netflix, Crunchyroll, and workout metrics while keeping physical buttons functional, and reduces Netflix's startup time from nearly a minute to about 21 seconds. However, limitations include standard definition (SD) video quality on Netflix, potential loss of modifications after a factory reset, and risks regarding device safety and warranties.
