Unitree Robotics Announces STAR Market IPO Schedule to Raise 4.2 Billion RMB
Unitree Robotics has announced its IPO schedule on the STAR Market, with the preliminary inquiry set for August 5, 2026, and offline subscription on August 10, 2026. The company plans to issue over 40.44 million shares to raise 4.202 billion RMB. As one of the few profitable general-purpose robotics companies globally, Unitree's massive IPO highlights the accelerating commercialization and investor confidence in the embodied AI and robotics sector. The funding will heavily support the development of robot foundation models and manufacturing capabilities. Nearly half of the raised funds (2.022 billion RMB) will be allocated specifically to intelligent robot model R&D. Financially, Unitree's revenue grew to 1.699 billion RMB in 2025 with a net profit of 278 million RMB, though Q1 2026 profits dipped due to rising R&D and sales expenses.
## BACKGROUND
Embodied AI refers to artificial intelligence systems integrated into physical bodies, like robots, that interact with the real world using sensors and actuators. Developing these systems requires robot foundation models, which are large-scale AI models trained on diverse data to provide robots with generalized perception, decision-making, and control capabilities. Unitree Robotics is a prominent developer of quadruped (four-legged) and humanoid robots designed to leverage these AI advancements.
