Unitree Founder Predicts Embodied AI's "ChatGPT Moment" Within Three Years
Wang Xingxing, founder and CEO of Unitree Robotics, predicted at the 2026 World Internet Conference forum that embodied AI's "ChatGPT moment" could arrive within two to three years. This milestone would allow robots to operate directly and perform basic tasks in most unfamiliar environments. Achieving this milestone would mark a transition for robots from performing pre-programmed, repetitive tasks to autonomously adapting to real-world, dynamic environments. This could accelerate the commercialization of humanoid robots and their integration into daily human life and industries. Wang defines this "ChatGPT moment" as a scenario where a robot can complete approximately 80% of tasks in about 80% of unfamiliar environments using voice and language commands. He emphasized that continuous investment in innovation is the most critical prerequisite for achieving this breakthrough.
