Unitree and Sequoia China Launch 'Shanyu Venture Program' for Embodied AI Startups
Unitree Technology and Sequoia China have jointly established the 'Shanyu Venture Program' to invest in and accelerate early-stage startups specializing in embodied AI, robotics, and upstream/downstream technologies. The initiative combines Unitree's engineering expertise with Sequoia China's venture capital methodology to support young entrepreneurial teams. This partnership creates a specialized accelerator combining top-tier venture capital with deep industrial engineering insights, helping hardware and robotics startups avoid pitfalls between experimental success and mass production. By addressing early-stage funding and technical deployment, it aims to accelerate the commercialization of embodied AI technologies. The program's core strategy emphasizes finding projects early, fast decision-making, and providing industry resources to support teams starting from a mere idea, code, or prototype. Led by founders like Unitree CEO Wang Xingxing, the initiative seeks to act as a supportive co-pilot rather than interfering with company operations.
## BACKGROUND
