Tiangong Ultra Humanoid Robot Wins 1500m Race in Record 2 Minutes 21.63 Seconds

The "Tianzhuo" team, utilizing the Tiangong Ultra humanoid robot, won the 1500-meter final at the Second World Humanoid Robot Games with a time of 2 minutes and 21.63 seconds. This performance significantly improved upon last year's winning time of 6 minutes and 34.40 seconds set by the Unitree H1 robot. This achievement highlights rapid advancements in legged locomotion and robotic speed, demonstrating that humanoid robots can now outrun human athletic records in long-distance events. It showcases the accelerating pace of development in embodied AI and robotic hardware integration. Developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, the Tiangong Ultra robot finished ahead of the "Feileishen" robot (2:30.00) and the "Fenghuo Shandian" team (2:30.22). The winning time also surpassed the human male 1500m world record of 3 minutes and 26.00 seconds.

## BACKGROUND

The Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center was established in late 2023 as a collaborative effort between enterprises specializing in large AI models, core components, and complete robotic systems. The World Humanoid Robot Games serves as a testing ground for evaluating the mobility, balance, and control algorithms of humanoid robots under competitive conditions.
