ThundeRobot has introduced a liquid-cooled mini AI workstation powered by the high-performance AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. The compact desktop system delivers up to 176W of peak performance and is designed specifically for local AI workloads and content creation. This release highlights the growing trend of deploying powerful, localized AI hardware to address privacy concerns, latency, and high token costs associated with cloud-based AI. By integrating AMD's top-tier Strix Halo APU into a mini PC, users get workstation-class AI performance without needing a massive desktop tower. The workstation measures 199mm on all sides, weighs 6.5kg, and features a built-in 400W 12VO platinum power supply alongside a custom liquid cooling system. It also offers robust connectivity, including dual USB4 ports, 2.5G and 10G Ethernet ports, and support for Wi-Fi 7.
## BACKGROUND
The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is part of the "Strix Halo" processor family, which features 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and a high-performance integrated GPU. Unlike traditional setups that require a discrete graphics card, Strix Halo utilizes a wide 256-bit memory bus and unified LPDDR5X memory to deliver massive bandwidth, making it highly suitable for running large language models locally.
