Thermaltake Launches AX 3200W Power Supply for AI Workstations

Thermaltake has launched the AX 3200W power supply, a high-capacity unit designed specifically for AI workstations. It features ATX 3.1 compliance and includes four native 12V-2x6 connectors to power multiple high-end GPUs. As AI workloads demand massive parallel processing power, workstations require robust power supplies capable of driving multiple power-hungry GPUs simultaneously. This 3200W unit addresses this need by offering stable, high-wattage delivery and modern connector standards for multi-GPU setups. The power supply features 80 PLUS Platinum certification, a 200mm length, and 100% Japanese 105°C capacitors, backed by a 10-year warranty. It is priced at 18,980 TWD (approximately $580 USD) and supports up to 200% transient power excursions.

## BACKGROUND

The ATX 3.1 standard is Intel's design guide for power supplies, optimized for modern hardware with high power spikes. The 12V-2x6 connector is an updated PCI-SIG standard that replaces the older 12VHPWR connector, offering improved safety, durability, and reliable power delivery of up to 600W per cable to high-end graphics cards.
