Thermaltake Launches AX 3200W Platinum ATX Power Supply for AI Workstations

Thermaltake has launched the AX 3200W Platinum modular ATX power supply in China, priced at 4,399 RMB. It features four native 12V-2x6 connectors designed to power multiple high-end GPUs in AI workstations. As AI workloads demand massive parallel computing power, workstations require robust power supplies capable of driving multiple power-hungry GPUs safely. This PSU addresses this need by offering 3200W of continuous power and complying with the latest ATX 3.1 safety standards. The unit measures 200mm in length, features a single +12V rail design, uses 100% Japanese 105°C electrolytic capacitors, and includes a 140mm double ball bearing fan. It is backed by a 10-year warranty and achieves 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency with a hold-up time of over 17ms.

## BACKGROUND

The ATX 3.1 standard and the 12V-2x6 connector were introduced by PCI-SIG to replace the older 12VHPWR standard, which faced melting issues under high thermal loads. The 12V-2x6 design offers improved pin engagement and safer power delivery of up to 600W per cable for modern PCIe 5.1 graphics cards.
