This marks the company's first concrete step toward preparing its autonomous ride-hailing services for the South American market. This expansion indicates that Tesla is actively preparing its FSD and Robotaxi ecosystem for international markets beyond the United States. Gathering local data is crucial for adapting the autonomous driving system to different traffic rules, road layouts, and driving behaviors. The hired operators will drive test vehicles for 6 to 8 hours daily to collect camera and audio data, while also managing driver and passenger operations.
