Tencent to Shut Down AI Agent Creation Platform Tencent Yuanqi in November 2026
Tencent announced that its no-code AI agent creation and distribution platform, Tencent Yuanqi, will officially cease all services on November 9, 2026. Creation of new agents and API key distribution will stop on October 29, 2026, requiring creators to export their workflows and data before the platform closes. This shutdown reflects ongoing strategic consolidation among tech giants navigating the highly competitive AI agent and product ecosystem. Enterprises and developers using Yuanqi to power automated customer service and intelligent assistants across WeChat, QQ, and Tencent Cloud will need to migrate their operations to alternative platforms. After November 9, 2026, all public application access, API calls, control panel operations, and agent displays across external channels like WeChat Customer Service will cease functioning. Users will have a dedicated data retention transition window until January 9, 2027, to export agent configurations, workflows, and chat logs before non-regulatory data is permanently deleted.
## BACKGROUND
Launched in May 2024, Tencent Yuanqi was introduced as a one-stop AI agent creation and distribution platform powered by Tencent's proprietary Hunyuan large language model. The platform enabled users to build customized intelligent assistants using natural language prompts, knowledge bases, and plugins without requiring programming skills. It offered native integration across Tencent's ecosystem, allowing seamless deployment to channels such as WeChat Official Accounts, QQ, and WeChat Work.
