Tencent PR Director Zhang Jun announced a back-to-school promotion offering 1,000 free credits for its desktop AI agent tool, WorkBuddy, to verified teachers and university students in mainland China. Eligible users can claim the points after completing identity verification within the WorkBuddy app or through the Ministry of Education's official portal. The promotion aims to expand the adoption of Tencent's AI productivity tools within the academic community during the new school year. By lowering the entry barrier for students and educators, Tencent seeks to build long-term user habituation around multi-agent automation workflows. Eligibility is restricted to active teachers verified via the Ministry of Education's 'China Teacher' mini-program and enrolled students at Chinese universities outside of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
