Tencent Cloud to Establish First Malaysia Cloud Region and Train Local AI Talent
Tencent Cloud has announced its first cloud region in Johor, Malaysia, featuring three availability zones, alongside a partnership with local institutions to train over 1,000 AI talents. Additionally, Tencent showcased its AI-native office agent workstation, WorkBuddy, which features over 100 skills for enterprise tasks. This expansion strengthens Tencent Cloud's infrastructure footprint in Southeast Asia and supports Malaysia's digital transformation by addressing the regional demand for cloud services and AI skills. It also highlights the growing commercialization of AI agents in enterprise workflows. The new Malaysian region will integrate into Tencent Cloud's global network, which spans 23 regions and 66 availability zones. The WorkBuddy platform operates as an AI assistant capable of executing complex, multi-step tasks like market research and data analysis using specialized skills and knowledge bases.
