Tencent Announces Shutdown of QClaw WeChat Remote Work AI Assistant

Tencent announced that QClaw, its WeChat-based remote work AI assistant, will officially cease operations on December 24, 2026. Effective immediately, the platform has halted new user registrations and subscription sales, with all user data scheduled for deletion by March 24, 2027. The shutdown reflects Tencent's internal consolidation of AI offerings following a July organizational shift that transferred QClaw's development team into the division responsible for WorkBuddy. It demonstrates how major tech firms are streamlining redundant AI tools to focus resources on unified enterprise products. Existing users can request refunds for active subscriptions and use migration tools to transfer their prompts, agent configurations, and chat history to WorkBuddy with bonus point incentives. QClaw was originally created by the Tencent PC Manager team based on the open-source OpenClaw framework and entered internal beta testing earlier this year.
