Sony Releases PS5 System Update 26.06-14.00.00 with Enhanced PSSR Enabled by Default
Sony has released PS5 system update version 26.06-14.00.00, which enables the enhanced PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) image quality setting by default on PS5 Pro consoles. The update also introduces active speaker indicators for voice chats and a new Community Events widget on the Welcome Center. This update allows PS5 Pro users to automatically enjoy sharper visuals across both new games and older titles supporting previous PSSR versions without manual configuration. It reinforces Sony's focus on leveraging machine learning upscaling to deliver higher resolutions and smooth frame rates without adding GPU rendering load. Users can disable enhanced PSSR under Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output, though the feature remains exclusive to the PS5 Pro hardware. Additionally, a new setting allowing users to disable Bluetooth for esports venue management will intentionally prevent the console from entering rest mode or using HDMI device linking.
