Salesforce and NVIDIA Launch Koa, an Enterprise Reasoning AI Model

Salesforce partnered with NVIDIA to launch Koa, an enterprise-focused open-weight reasoning model fine-tuned specifically for sales, marketing, and customer service workflows. Built on NVIDIA's Nemotron base model, Koa integrates into the Agentforce platform to handle complex multi-step tasks without relying on external frontier models. Koa offers enterprise clients a privacy-focused and cost-effective alternative to expensive closed-source models like ChatGPT or Claude for multi-step reasoning. This release underscores a broader industry shift where enterprise AI requirements are diverging from general-purpose frontier models toward domain-specialized models with strict data governance. To eliminate data leak risks, Salesforce and NVIDIA fine-tuned Koa entirely on simulated synthetic business datasets rather than real customer data. Integrated with Agentforce's AI Gateway, Koa lowers token consumption while allowing enterprise policies to manage automatic request routing and security controls.
