Rumors Detail Apple’s Upcoming homeOS for Smart Home Devices

Reports detail Apple's rumored homeOS, an operating system designed for an upcoming smart home display hub. The system reportedly combines UI elements from iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS, relying heavily on Siri AI for personal context-driven voice interactions. If launched, homeOS would expand Apple's operating system lineup alongside iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS, strengthening its position in the smart home hardware market. It signals Apple's push to create a central, AI-driven display for household management to compete with Amazon Echo Show and Google Nest Hub. The homeOS interface defaults to a clock and photo slideshow display with a swipe-up app launcher, featuring built-in apps such as Photos, FaceTime, and Notes. While it reportedly lacks a dedicated App Store, users will be able to sync third-party widgets directly from their iPhones.
