Robam Appliances to Release Next-Gen AI Cooking Glasses in March

Robam Appliances is developing a consumer-ready generation of its AI cooking glasses, scheduled for release in March next year. The new model will feature the "Shi Shen" cooking LLM, a lighter design than the previous 89g version, a monochrome display, and a swappable battery system. This represents a push to bring specialized, domain-specific AI hardware into the smart home and kitchen environment, moving beyond general-purpose smart glasses. It highlights how companies are attempting to commercialize niche AI applications by linking wearable hardware directly with kitchen appliances. The glasses utilize optical waveguide modules supplied by Gudong Smart and run on algorithms developed by Robam's Chengdu team to enable appliance integration. To optimize for daily kitchen use, the hardware compromises on display color (switching to monochrome) to achieve a lighter weight and uses a swappable battery design.
