RISC-V Chipmaker ESWIN Computing Lists on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange
Beijing ESWIN Computing, founded by former BOE chairman Wang Dongsheng, officially listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This marks the first public listing of a semiconductor company built around the open-standard RISC-V chip architecture. The listing highlights the growing commercial maturity and capital market backing for RISC-V as a serious alternative to proprietary architectures like ARM and x86. It also reflects rapid market expansion in China, where the domestic RISC-V controller market is projected to reach 219.4 billion RMB by 2030. ESWIN operates on a fabless semiconductor model under a 'RISC-V+AI' strategy, controlling over 620 IP modules, more than 20 RISC-V core series, and serving 220 global clients. Its revenue grew to 2.431 billion RMB in 2025, and IPO proceeds will support product R&D, software/hardware platform upgrades, strategic acquisitions, and ecosystem development.
## BACKGROUND
RISC-V is an open-standard instruction set architecture (ISA) that serves as the underlying blueprint for processor designs without requiring costly proprietary license fees. In the semiconductor industry, fabless companies focus purely on designing chips and developing reusable intellectual property (IP) cores, leaving physical silicon fabrication to specialized external foundries.
