Qianxun Intelligence Co-Founder Predicts Humanoid Robots Will Reach GPT-3.0 Level by 2027

Gao Yang, co-founder of Qianxun Intelligence and Tsinghua University assistant professor, stated that humanoid robots will understand spoken commands starting next year and reach a 'GPT-3.0' milestone by mid-2027. He predicted that industrial and commercial deployments will occur within one to two years, though practical domestic household adoption remains further away. As humanoid hardware rapidly matures with advanced mobility like backflips, the robotics industry's bottleneck has shifted entirely to embodied AI software capable of performing economically valuable work. Reaching a 'ChatGPT moment' in robotics could unlock widespread physical automation in factories, commercial services, and eventually home settings. To train its models, Qianxun Intelligence employs roughly 1,000 contract workers across China to gather real-world physical data, achieving a 90% success rate on simple tasks in structured indoor settings. However, executing fine motor control like unscrewing bottle caps and adapting to completely novel tasks remain key challenges.

## BACKGROUND

Embodied AI refers to artificial intelligence integrated into physical bodies like robots, enabling them to perceive, reason, and execute tasks directly in the physical world. Founded in 2024, Qianxun Intelligence (Spirit AI) is a Chinese startup focused on developing both full-stack robotic hardware and AI foundational algorithms for generalized robotics.
