Primate Labs has officially released GeekBench 7, featuring overhauled CPU and GPU benchmarks designed to better reflect modern workloads. The update introduces tests for AI/ML tasks, content creation, and native NVIDIA CUDA support. As AI, machine learning, and content creation become integral to everyday applications, benchmarking tools must evolve to measure these workloads accurately. GeekBench 7's updates ensure that hardware evaluations align with modern user experiences, such as on-device AI and real-time video processing. The update removes the HTML5 browser test from multi-core benchmarks to reflect real-world single-threaded browsing, while adding media tests like AV1 encoding, Opus audio compression, and Whisper speech decoding.
