Pony.ai Partners with FutureLink to Deploy 200 Robotaxis in South Korea

Pony.ai has signed a strategic agreement with South Korean mobility firm FutureLink to establish a joint venture and deploy 200 Robotaxis in South Korea. The fleet will utilize Pony.ai's 7th-generation autonomous driving technology integrated into vehicles manufactured by BAIC, aiming for commercial operations by 2028. This partnership marks a significant international expansion for Pony.ai's autonomous driving technology into the South Korean market. It also highlights the growing global commercialization of Robotaxis and the cross-border collaboration between Chinese tech providers and local operators. The joint venture will divide responsibilities, with FutureLink managing local operations and compliance, while Pony.ai provides technical support. To address data security concerns, FutureLink has committed that all data collected within South Korea will remain in the country.

## BACKGROUND

Prior to this agreement, Pony.ai and FutureLink successfully completed a pilot program in Seoul's Gangnam district, logging approximately 80,000 kilometers without any accidents. Pony.ai's 7th-generation autonomous driving platform features significantly reduced hardware costs, designed to facilitate large-scale commercial deployment.
