OPPO Releases World's First White Paper on 6G Intent-Based Communication

OPPO released the world's first white paper on device-network agent intent communication at the China Mobile Global Partners Conference. This initiative targets the evolution of 6G networks from traditional data transmission to intelligent, intent-driven experiences. This concept aims to simplify complex network operations by allowing users or applications to express high-level goals rather than managing low-level resource scheduling. It represents a forward-looking vision for how next-generation telecommunications can seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence and user intent. In scenarios such as concerts, gaming, 4K live streaming, or cloud AI applications, terminal devices will translate user requirements into structured intents. The network will then independently handle intent parsing, task planning, and service allocation without requiring user intervention in underlying signaling.

## BACKGROUND

6G networks are conceptualized to move beyond mere connectivity enhancement toward native intelligence, where AI and communication are deeply intertwined. Intent-based communication is an emerging paradigm designed to let users communicate desired outcomes directly to the network, shifting the focus from 'transmitting data' to 'fulfilling user intent'.
