OpenAI has expanded the global availability of its GPT-Live powered ChatGPT Voice feature to users on Edu, Business, and Enterprise plans. This rollout brings the latest voice capabilities, previously launched for consumer plans, to organizational and educational accounts. ## BACKGROUND
OpenAI introduced GPT-Live in July 2026 as the default model powering the new ChatGPT Voice experience. Previously, OpenAI offered Advanced Voice Mode (powered by models like GPT-4o), which supported native voice-to-voice interactions, accent imitation, and real-time conversation.
