OpenAI Launches GPT-6 Astra with 1.05M Context Window and Autonomous Desktop Capabilities

OpenAI has officially launched its next-generation flagship model, GPT-6 Astra, across ChatGPT Work, Codex, and its API for Pro, Enterprise, and Business Premium users. The model features a 1.05 million token context window and sets new performance records on complex reasoning, mathematics, and computer-use benchmarks. GPT-6 Astra represents a major shift toward autonomous AI agents capable of operating desktop workflows, executing multi-step browser tasks, and performing sophisticated software engineering. Its high scores on advanced benchmarks like ARC-AGI-3 and FrontierMath reflect rapid progress toward artificial general intelligence capabilities. The model supports text and image inputs with a maximum output length of 128k tokens, priced at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens on the API. OpenAI also noted that Astra reached its internal 'Critical' threshold for cybersecurity capabilities after autonomously discovering two zero-day vulnerabilities in testing, leading to restricted access for its advanced exploit features.
