OpenAI Launches Admin Plugin for ChatGPT Work and Codex

OpenAI has released a new Admin plugin for ChatGPT Work and Codex, enabling workspace administrators to manage users, permissions, and usage quotas through conversational interactions. The plugin also allows admins to analyze activity data, approve spending requests, and generate reports directly within the chat interface. This update simplifies enterprise IT operations by replacing traditional administrative dashboards with a natural language interface, making workspace management more intuitive and efficient. It highlights OpenAI's focus on enhancing enterprise-grade administrative controls as it rolls out agentic workflows. The plugin supports tasks such as onboarding/offboarding members, adjusting quota limits for groups, and troubleshooting access issues. In a demonstration, the tool was shown generating usage charts and automatically creating a presentation that was shared directly to Slack.
