According to market research firm Omdia, global semiconductor revenue reached $425 billion in Q2 2026, representing a record quarter-over-quarter growth rate of 31.4%. This surge was primarily propelled by surging artificial intelligence demand, which reshaped production priorities across DRAM, NAND, and NOR memory markets. The massive growth underscores how deeply AI hardware infrastructure is transforming the global technology supply chain. Total semiconductor revenue for the first half of 2026 reached $752 billion, already exceeding full-year totals from 2024 and prior. Non-memory semiconductor segments also defied historical seasonal trends by expanding over 10% quarter-over-quarter, compared to their typical average growth of around 3%. Omdia projects that Q3 2026 revenue will cross $500 billion in a single quarter, pushing year-to-date global sales past $1.25 trillion.
