Nvidia Seeks Chinese Partners to Co-Develop 6G AI-RAN Base Stations
Nvidia is reportedly accelerating its entry into the telecommunications market by seeking Chinese hardware suppliers, such as Shenzhen Jiaxian Communication, to co-develop 6G AI-RAN base stations. The collaboration, which leverages Nvidia's CUDA ecosystem, aims to deploy trial networks by 2027 or 2028. This move signifies a strategic shift of AI computation from centralized data centers to edge telecommunications infrastructure, enabling AI delivery directly to end-user devices. It also highlights Nvidia's ambition to establish its hardware and software ecosystem as the foundation for next-generation 6G networks. Shenzhen Jiaxian Communication has reportedly been collaborating with Nvidia for over six months, adapting to Nvidia's CUDA platform. This initiative aligns with Nvidia's broader telecom strategy, which includes a $1 billion investment in Nokia and the formation of the AI-RAN Alliance.
