NVIDIA is reportedly in talks to invest billions of dollars in Perplexity AI as part of a new funding round that could value the AI startup at over $30 billion. The two companies are also discussing a potential technology licensing agreement. This massive potential investment highlights the surging demand and soaring valuations for AI agent technologies, particularly as Perplexity transitions from a search engine to an automated workflow orchestrator. Driven by the rapid adoption of its "Perplexity Computer" workflow automation agent, Perplexity's annualized revenue has surged from under $250 million in early 2026 to over $750 million. The proposed $30 billion valuation represents a more than 60% increase from its $18 billion valuation in July of the previous year.
