Nubia to Launch NaviX Ultra AI Agent Smartphone Powered by Doubao and MCP
Nubia has obtained network licensing for the NaviX Ultra, marketed as the world's first AI Agent smartphone, which will launch this month. Powered by ByteDance's Doubao AI assistant, the phone integrates with apps via Model Context Protocol (MCP) APIs rather than using screen-reading GUI automation. This marks a major architectural shift in mobile AI from privacy-invasive screen scraping toward structured, standardized API integration. If app developers adopt MCP, AI agents will be able to securely automate multi-step workflows across applications without needing visual access to personal screens. The NaviX Ultra features a physical orange 'AI button' and processes core large language model computations on-device to enhance privacy. Rumored specifications include a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 processor, a 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, and 100W fast charging.
