Nubia NaviX Ultra AI Agent Smartphone Pre-Orders Open Ahead of Official Launch
Nubia has officially opened pre-orders on JD.com for the NaviX Ultra, an upcoming AI agent smartphone co-developed by ZTE and ByteDance. Set to launch on Wednesday, September 16, the flagship device integrates ByteDance's Doubao AI assistant natively. The launch highlights the growing trend of embedding system-level AI agents into smartphone hardware while navigating privacy boundaries regarding app automation. It also marks the first commercial mass-production usage of domestic Chinese 10667Mbps LPDDR5X RAM produced by ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT). Expected hardware specs include a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 processor, a 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery with up to 100W fast charging, ultra-fast LPDDR5X RAM, and a triple camera setup featuring a periscope telephoto lens. Crucially, the system avoids full screen-reading and GUI click simulation across third-party super-apps to address security and privacy concerns.
## BACKGROUND
Mobile AI agents are designed to execute complex, multi-step tasks autonomously on behalf of users, moving beyond standard voice search toward active app control. Doubao is a major multimodal AI assistant developed by ByteDance that has become one of China's most widely used AI engines.
