Momenta Announces R7 Ultra World Model with 5x Parameter Scale
Momenta announced its upcoming R7 Ultra world model at the XHEART press conference, featuring a 5x increase in both parameter scale and safety performance compared to its predecessor. The company also stated plans to further scale the model up to 10 times its original size in the future. This development marks a significant step forward in autonomous driving by shifting systems from simply understanding the environment to actively predicting and simulating future scenarios. Powered by specialized hardware like the XHEART X7 Ultra chip, it aims to achieve driving capabilities that match or even exceed human drivers in complex environments. The R7 Ultra is supported by the XHEART X7 Ultra large-model chip, which delivers 700 TOPS of computing power and utilizes a large-core NPU architecture designed to run massive models on-vehicle. Momenta claims the model excels in challenging scenarios such as tight U-turns, negotiation during passing, reversing to yield, and extreme parking.
