Microsoft Excel Introduces Copilot Interactive Canvas for Dynamic Reports
Microsoft is introducing Copilot Interactive Canvas in Excel, allowing users to transform spreadsheet data into dynamic, auto-updating reports using natural language prompts. Additionally, Microsoft announced Skill Builder and Skill Recorder features to help users create reusable automation workflows. This update bridges the gap between raw spreadsheet data and polished executive presentations by automating visualization and reporting tasks. It enhances enterprise productivity by allowing users to effortlessly generate and maintain reports without manual layout adjustments. The generated canvas remains linked to the underlying Excel workbook, updating automatically when data changes, and is currently available to Microsoft 365 Insiders. Furthermore, Skill Builder lets users describe workflows through conversation, while Skill Recorder records on-screen actions to generate repeatable skills.
## BACKGROUND
Microsoft 365 Insiders is a preview program that gives users early access to upcoming features and updates in Microsoft applications before a public rollout. Natural language prompts allow users to interact with artificial intelligence systems using conversational human text rather than specialized coding or formulas.
