Meta Launches Meta Enterprise Platform Led by Former MongoDB CEO Chirantan Desai
Meta has officially launched the Meta Enterprise Platform, positioning it as the next major pillar of its business to deliver its complete AI technology stack to businesses. Chirantan "CJ" Desai, former CEO and President of MongoDB, has been appointed as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer reporting directly to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. This initiative signals Meta's aggressive expansion beyond consumer platforms into commercial enterprise B2B services, directly monetizing its massive AI investments. By packaging its models, AI agents, and infrastructure for commercial clients, Meta enters direct competition with enterprise technology leaders like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. The enterprise stack will combine Meta's proprietary and open models, AI agent frameworks, infrastructure, and partnership ecosystems to help businesses digitally transform. Following Desai's transition to Meta, MongoDB announced that former executive Dev Ittycheria will temporarily return to lead the company while a permanent successor is selected.
## BACKGROUND
Meta has invested tens of billions of dollars into AI research and infrastructure, notably pioneering open-source foundational LLMs like Llama.
